What is JEE Main 2026 Session 2?
JEE Main is conducted twice a year - Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April). Students can appear for either or both sessions. The better of the two scores is considered for ranking purposes. Session 2 gives an opportunity for students to improve their scores or for those who couldn't appear in Session 1.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Age Limit: No age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2026
- Number of Attempts: Candidates can appear for JEE Main for 3 consecutive years
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) or in top 20 percentile

How to Apply for JEE Main 2026 Session 2
- Visit the official NTA JEE Main portal: jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Click on "New Registration" if you're a first-time applicant, or "Login" for returning candidates
- Fill in personal details, educational qualification, and contact information
- Upload scanned documents: photograph, signature, Class 10 & 12 certificates
- Select exam cities (up to 4 choices)
- Pay the application fee online
- Submit the application and download confirmation
Application Fee
- General/OBC: ₹1,000 (Boys), ₹500 (Girls)
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹500 (Boys), ₹250 (Girls)
- Outside India: ₹5,000
Exam Pattern
JEE Main consists of two papers:
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): 90 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning): Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing
Each correct answer carries 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for wrong answers (except numerical value questions).
